What if my car does not pass?
No problem. Queensland Transport allow 14 days after the safety certificate is issued to rectify any issues and have the vehicle reinspected.
Do I need one BEFORE I sell my car?
Yes there is provision under the ACT for Queensland Transport to issues fines where a vehicle is offered for sale prior to obtaining a safety certificate. Don’t risk it. Book one now.

Car Mobile Safety Certificate / Roadworthy Certificate / RWC
Safety Certificates or Roadworthy Certificates as they used to be called,
will take roughly 45 minutes.
In general the items covered are:
- Tyres
- Brakes
- Suspension
- Body Rust or damage
- Lights
- Oil leaks
- Seat belts
- Hand brake
- windscreen
At the end of the inspection a written certificate will be issued. If the vehicle fails you have 14 day to rectify any iproblems and call us back for a reinspection.
If the vehicle is unregistered the seller is not legally required to provide a certificate.
Under Queensland Law the seller MUST provide a safety certificate for any car that is registered.
The seller may be fined if caught advertising a vehicle for sale without a safety certificate.
Safety Certificate/Roadworthy Certificates for private sellers remain valid for 2 months or 2,000km (whichever comes first). Motor Dealers Safety Certificates/Roadworthy Certificate are valid for 3 months or 1,000km (whichever comes first).
